Yesterday.........well, 1972!!!!

Me with my brother Andrew

I was born in Manchester at Withington Hospital on 30 October 1972 to parents Joan and Bill. I had a 4 year old brother, Andrew waiting for me when I finally got out from being cooped up for a whole 9 months!!

I was brought up in the Rusholme district of Manchester in Letchworth Street. Anyone familiar with this street will know it was directly facing Maine Road which is probably why I ended up becoming a Man City fan! The players used to run past our house on the way to the training ground at nearby Platt Lane.

I lived in a two up two down terraced house which had an outside toilet (brrr) and the bath was in the bedroom that I shared with my brother!!

I went to Heald Place Primary School which I absolutely loved and it's there that I met some of the great friends I still have to this day. After Heald Place I went to Whalley Range High School for Girls where I met a few more of the great mates I hold dear to me. Absolute nutters the lot of them!

It's fair to say that I didn't concentrate as much as I should've at secondary school, infact I didn't concentrate at all. But I am proud of the fact that I was never put on report and I only ever had one detention!! A few of my mates reading this will not be able to boast about such a good record!!!

I loved my schooldays even though there was no chance of me ever becoming a rocket scientist. My mates and I were having far too much fun to learn very much.

So here is my WARNING to any children reading this....................work hard, don't mess around in class and do your homework. A wasted youth is not big or clever, it's just bloody good fun!!!

Thanks to all my mates who made my Whalley Range School days the amazing days that they were. You know who you are!!!!!
