The obtaining of the wristband
On Tuesday 16 December I was to learn that Paul McCartney (my Hero) would to be doing a signing session of his new CD 'Electric Arguments' which he recorded under the name The Fireman. Paul would be doing this signing on Sunday 21 December at HMV Oxford Street and wristbands would be given out on a first come first served basis from the store at 9am on Thursday 18 December!!!
I was due to be working an early shift on the Thursday so I immediately phoned work and was over the moon when my work mate Jane swapped shifts with me enabling me to have Thursday off!! As soon as that was sorted out I rang my friend Anita in Newcastle. Anita didn't take much persuading and almost instantly booked the train to London in the hope of obtaining a wristband.
I just HAD to get one of the 200 priority red wristbands available. I got to HMV Oxford Street around 7-20pm on Wednesday 17 December (the evening before). I was amazed to find only one other person queueing, Dani who arrived around 6-50pm.
We were sooned joined by our friend Peter and Anita joined us not long after. We also met a lovely guy called Jason from Devon and so our 'Camping out gang' had become complete! We had such a great time setting up camp down the alley at the side of HMV, we had loads of laughs and were thrilled as we knew we were guaranteed a priority wristband. Mission accomplished!! The 14 hours we sat and slept on the pavement were a blast.

We were waiting for Paul to come out after the signing so we decided to have a photo taken in front of his car!! I fell off the pavement at one point and fell into the car!!!
